Denis Karcher

Postdoc

Denis is a new postdoc in the Anthropocene Lab and will focus on science-policy interfaces and the roles of different knowledge dimensions, paces of change, and trust in them. He is an interdisciplinary marine scientist with a background in environmental science and marine biology and a PhD in Science Communication from the Australian National University. Denis has studied science-policy knowledge exchange, evidence-informed decision making, research impact, and human dimensions of conservation. His previous work experiences span Germany, France, Australia, and Saudi Arabia and include research (ANU, UNSW, IUEM, IRD), science advice (Australian Academy of Science) and a government agency.
