Honghong is an interdisciplinary researcher working at the interface between biodiversity and human health. Her work focuses on relationships between biodiversity and human health; how do they interact with each other and how the knowledge can inform evidence-based decision-making to promote sustainable and healthy development.

She is interested in integrating evidence and theories from multiple disciplinaries and identify patterns, gaps, and actionable insights to address complex sustainability challenges. Her current work examines the existing empirical and theoretical evidence on interlinkages between biodiversity and human health. Her work involves collaboration across disciplines and combining methods to solve emerging complex research questions. She earned experiences working in international and interdisciplinary research environments, including Horizon 2020 projects and EU COST networks. Before joining the lab, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Global Economic Dynamics and the Biosphere (GEDB) and Stockholm Resilience Centre.
